Life Boat
Scenen utspelar sig på en vaggande pråm. Ur en sarkofag reser sig en kvinna långsamt och börjar utforska sin omgivning. Jord, sand och lera är viktiga element som hon kommer i kontakt med. Koreografin och kroppens handlingar bidrar till upplevelsen av att bevittna någon form av ritual. Life Boat intresserar sig för livets kretslopp och gestaltar en kvinnas väg genom livets olika faser. Det är också ett försök att få olika konstnärliga uttryck att möta varandra och här kombineras dans, teater, bildkonst och musik. Verket är en dokumentation av en performance som framfördes på Skeppsholmen i Stockholm.

Life Boat
The scene takes place on a rocking barge. From a sarcophagus, a woman slowly rises and starts to explore her surroundings. Earth, sand and clay are important elements she comes in contact with. The choreography and the body’s actions contribute to the feeling that we are witnessing a kind of ritual. Life Boat is interested in the circular nature of life, describing a woman’s path through life’s different phases. It is also an attempt to bring about a meeting between different forms of artistic expression, combining dance, theatre, visual art and music. The work is a documentation of a performance that was carried out on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.
